Hacking Preloader Help

Hi!

I decided to install preloader today to make my wii as brick safe as possible. Everything seems to have installed fine, But with the default hacks.ini, only 1 hack is listed and working (skip disc update check)


I was wondering how to get more hacks, or if someone has an up-to-date hacks.ini?



also, lets say I ever decide to remove preloader, I am aware it moves the actual system menu to a different spot, and if I reinstall the system menu, it simply replaces preloader....but what happens to that system menu that got moved? is it still there after just taking up space on the wii's Nand?

After you install a new system menu, run the hack remover tool. That will delete the last traces of preloader from nand

Even preloader .29? I have read on this board that the hacks remover does nothing for that one. Is that true?

ANSWER:

the worst part is, the message doesn't tell YOU to DO anything.....it's not like it said, "go muck about with the sysfiles and try to fix this"

allow me to explain more in-depth.

you set up preloader to run off of IOS60 (because it was there, it does)
your menu runs off of IOS60

savemii uses the menu
savemiifree uses the menu
starfall, fyi, uses the menu
everything you have uses the menu, because the menu loads first

except on your wii, where it doesn't load at all.

you removed the only IOS that everything wants to try first when it boots, so, no booting.

preloader relies on 60, 60 is not there
menu relies on 60, 60 is not there
all the things that rely on the menu also rely on 60, which is not there.

return to store, seem extra confused.

Ah, so they use the same ios. good, no worries there.

Its not quite named the same as my old one (lost it because of hard drive failure), so I'm not sure, just like to verify.

So, I didn't figured out how to make them work on my wii 4.0 NTSC! Anyone here can "translate" these codes to preloader understand and apply this hacks?
