Gaming Misc PS3 issues I have at the moment

Okay, here's my first issue with my PS3: I try to put in the device setup password into the password section of
the Sign-in area for my PS3, the virtual keyboard doesn't come up, and instead screen gets darker. (I updated to 4.89 on my NTSC CECHE 80GB Phat PS3) What do I do?
Also, whenever I insert a PS2 disc into my Phat PS3 it does play the software, but there's no controller input registered! Now what to do!?

4.89 has tons of problems, including the ofw version.

if you're on cfw, downgrade to 4.88.2 evilnat; if not, you'll have to wait until the toolbox is updated. there's nothing you can really do at this point to fix all these problems except downgrading.
