I don't have a Cyclo, and am wondering how well the real time save feature works on DS games?

Is it reliable, and are there some games that won't work with it?

Thanks.

From what I know, RTS doesn't work with Megaman ZX and the button combination to bring up the menu cause you to commit suicide in N+. Probably a few other games that won't work as well.

Same thing for me. ZX causes freeze, N+ causes your character to die, stop moving. Other games though, I suggest to save at a time when buttons don't matter because I have had it where ABXYLR causes some action to happen, and when I load it freezes because its in the middle of loading at that point.

I remember when it was first debuted in beta, it was buggy, and .saving. the same sometimes caused the cyclo to freeze, and going BACK to the game, whether you just saved or just loaded the game, froze. that was a while ago though, and I use it.. not frequently, but when I'm busy and can't get to a standard save point. I used it when I tried to play TWEWY, but the game was not my taste. but it was useful in the first hour or so of text text text.

You can't change the button controls for the RTS on the Cyclo? I find that a bit irritating. I was going to buy one and then sell my M3Real to my friend for one, but I think I might keep my M3 now...

On topic: In my experience with the RTS on the M3, it would be better to save it in a start menu than during gameplay mainly so that you won't be moving or doing some random thing when you have to load up a save.

Real time save works pretty well with most games, the only game that hasn't worked for me was Final Fantasy CC ROF but I think that's been fixed now. Also you can avoid the N+ suicide problem by pausing the game and entering the ingame menu, saving, and then holding start as you exit the menu.

hmm. Button controls? No, not right now. Apparently the new GUI allows full custom-ability, allowing you to build your own options and settings.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
