I think the homebrew app store should do that and I talked to them many times about it on Discord. They are having problems that I don’t understand. AFAIK it should just be a simple cron script that downloads and re-packages the nightlies for the store every day, but I am not the app store admin.

We now have Julius nightlies, Retroarch nightlies, and ScummVM nightlies, yet the store is not implementing them.

On VitaDB nightly downloads work just fine with a few lines of cron scripting.

Yes, thank you for your work on this! Is the retroarch nightly version of scummvm core the same as this one? Do you recommend using this one (I haven't tried the retroarch core yet).

Where can I found the nightly version of this?

ScummVM Switch official daily builds are now available.

I managed to get the official ScummVM buildbot to build daily Switch versions. That means these versions will always be up to date with the latest official ScummVM codebase.

Download (updated every day, click on “download latest development build” in the Switch row):

https://buildbot.scummvm.org/builds.html

More information:

That's big news! Awesome work & thanks B-)

I added a touchpad mouse mode option to ScummVM for Switch today. Turn it off to make the pointer jump to finger. Keep it on and ScummVM behaves like before (drag pointer like on a laptop touchpad).

Download the latest Switch nightly development build here:

https://buildbot.scummvm.org/builds.html

More information about the Switch port can be found on the ScummVM wiki here:

Can somebody explain to me how to remap the buttons? I am currently using ScummVM version 2.0.0 with RetroArch and it does not let me change it in RetroArch.

I have a game where there is no way to click to bring up the save or load menu. I have to perform specific keyboard presses such as F5 or the letters `b' and `o'. Is it possible to alter the configuration to do so?

Why are you using the Retroarch core? The Retroarch version is unsupported by the ScummVM team. It is missing the virtual keyboard. It is outdated and pretty much unusable without physical keyboard and mouse.

Use the standalone development build from here:
https://buildbot.scummvm.org/builds.html

In the standalone version, press Minus to bring up the virtual keyboard. Press Plus to bring up the menu for save/load. The full controls are explained here:

Videoproof (using the switchs internal capture function - any slight stutters or skips result from that. :) ) (German Version):

Also - here is btw what "with restored content" is about:
Note that when you add your game directory in ScummVM you'll be presented with two choices for the game. The first option is for the original game and will simply be named "Blade Runner"; we're mainly interested for your feedback for this version of the game, since it is considered feature complete. The other option is for importing the game with restored content and is named "Blade Runner with restored content"; this version is still work-in-progress and not yet complete. If you're testing this version please specify it explicitly in your feedback and bug reports.

Devs are into data file harvesting again.. I wonder what... ;) *lovesit*

Couldnt find it in a 3 min search on the ScummVM forums - but from whats stated on the main site, ScummVM developers basically reengineer every title they get their hands on that doesnt come with a known engine. So they disected data - and harvested some - and uuups, here is some content that didnt make it in the official release... ;) I bet. :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

For ScummVM noobs, here is a list of files you would need from the CD (or other source?) release, for it to run on ScummVM:
https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles#Blade_Runner

In case you are wondering, they are about 2GB in size. Thats modest, for a 4 CD game. ;)

Both 1 and 2 should run well. I only have 1 on the switch currently to test easily - which I just did. No issues.

Look at the Datafiles link above to know which files you need. "Tested a bunch of different versions" sound like user error - because - why?

ScummVM latest dev build used in case it makes any difference (it shouldnt).

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
