Hacking Should my retail copy of SuperSmashBrosBrawl work?

Alright guys, does anybody know the answer to this?

When I first got SSBB, I had to send it to Nintendo (before I modded) because my Wii wouldnt read the disc.

Now, I hadnt played it for a long time and today tried to play it, but the Wii cannot read the disc.

Is it because of the cIOS im using, or do I need to clean the laser lens?

it is possibly both. try the new cIOS38 rev16 and try clean the lens.

retail copies normally don't even touch a cIOS (unless you patched the IOS brawl needs)
so its probably the second

and Hatsu: cIOSrev16 has the dual layer bug too

Thanks for the reply. Ill try both. Im on rev14 at the moment, but I dont have a lens cleaner at the moment though.

I thought SSBB contained an update to help read DL disc's

dump it from the wii to sd or usb with wii game dumper

in that case download a dvd9 copy of the net and add to the drive

I might just have to do that if cleaning the lens doesnt work.

i believe certain CIOS revisions have issues with dual layered discs. just update your hacks, and you should be good to go.

Whats the best rev to use with SSBB.

Does cIOS222 work? Or do I need to use one of Wanin's?

Cios 222 works perfectly with Brawl. Wanin's cio's sometimes crash on the videos. But with Hermes Cios it works fine.
