Hacking So sick of my Sky3ds Whats needed for CFW on 10.7.0-31U?

Im tired of issues with my Sky3ds. the team seems dead and I will not support them in the future due to lack of updates. Anyway I want to install the best CFW option for me on my 3dsXL

Im running version 10.7.0-31U firmware. What is the best guide to use and what card do you use for storing the roms? I have a 64gb card to use.

http://3ds.guide is the only guide you'll ever need.
I use a SanDisk Ultra card, they're great. Samsung Evo is also great.

I guess Im asking do i still use the sky3ds card for the memory card storage or do I install the card somehwere else?

you may use it as well as cfw . . . but with cfw you generally use .cia files on the consoles sd card

ok so I have a problem now followed all the steps in the guide. Got to https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax (Section 2) I inserted my sdcard and the screen froze. had to reboot the device with the SD card installed it does nothing so I rebooted without the card in and its booting into the downgraded 3ds 2.1.0-4U menus with crazy color flashes. I cant setup the internet because its asking for the slide switch whcih Mine doesnt have since its a a new 3DSXL so Im lost not and confussed can anyone help me??

Do what gamesquest1 said, also the flashing colors are normal on n3DS. Also, like the guide says, you have to insert the microSD after boot every time you reboot in 2.1.0.

I have complete the install updated and installing my first cia!

just make sure to NOT put the lid down on 2.1..

Thanks I didnt find any instructions on how to install stuff but I assume you put them in the cia folder. Launch FBI and install from there? Also it is painfully slow for installs?? Seesm to be taking forever for a 3gig file. Also can I remove the CIA from the folder after its installed?

yes use FBI , and yes you can delete the cia later ..

the speed thing is normal and you'll get used to it, you only need to install once. just put it to the side and watch some videos on youtube
fbi should come with a install and delete cia option so it automatically removes the cia once its done installing.
