Funny, this egg event only took place if you connect your switch to the internet. If you played offline because...reasons, you just got the sakura (cheery blossoms) event.

Two events at the same time, plus fishing tourney, was a really bad way to introduce new players to events within the game. Hard to balance multiple cultural events I guess?

I actually had to converts eggs for water eggs to get those last 8.

The latestupdate solved that and so the joke is dated.

Using a bunch of old shoes would work for every Animal Crossing game and make the joke last way longer.
