Just take into consideration that by "everybody does", you mean you do, because I don't like nintendo games.
You say to me you don't like Metroid? I'm not a particular fan of Super Mario, but some of their games are nice.

Even Metroid I can understand if people don't particularly vibe with most if not all the games. Nintendo does have a rather unique market.

As someone who's owned both, I'd say the Switch. Despite it being harder to mod than a Vita, I'd say it has quite a few advantages IMO. A larger screen, It's still actively getting games released for it of all sorts of genres (I liked having a Vita for JRPGs but a lot of the time it felt like that's all there was), has more powerful hardware, can emulate a ton of systems fairly well if you can get your hands on a modded system (for example, I've been playing Zelda OoT on RetroArch using mupen64-next, Racing Lagoon on Retroarch using PCSX-Rearmed and GTA: LCS / VCS via PPSSPP lately and apart from the GTA games having a bit of stutter when driving super fast vehicles, all the emulators I've listed are usually a fairly smooth experience), and not to mention a modded system can run Android and Linux, meaning you can run 3 different operating systems on it, and a bunch of other stuff.

Of course it has it's disadvantages (price point, joy-con drift, the e-shop loading times will make your hair turn gray, etc.) but ever since picking up a Switch, I've rarely wished that I still had a Vita except for maybe wanting to play Persona 4 Golden. Also if you want something easily hackable, 3DS systems are pretty cheap these days and incredibly simple to mod.

None of this is to say the Vita's a bad system, it just falls a bit short because of how quickly Sony abandoned it, but the homebrew scene is always doing cool stuff to make up for it. That and memory for the Vita is expensive unless you go the SD2VITA route because Sony loves their proprietary media formats.

No, I don't like Metroid games, neither Mario nor Pokemon games, and the list goes on.

Though, I do like some franchises that are nintendo exclusives, like Golden Sun and Etrian Odyssey, but that's on the minority part.

Ya, Ps Vita is pretty cool stuff because of Jailbreak. With Internet connection u can do with it what ever u like. And with the help of a Raspberry Pi, u got the possibility to stream the Vita on TV. There is also the possibilty to change the Simcard Modulwith against a intern MicroSD Card slot. Then u can use up to 1TB intern Space.
But all together will cost surely over 200€.

I was thinking about a switch, to. But then Valve came up with its steam Deck. Sure its more expensive then a switch. But u got the ability to emulate everything u want. And it looks like they will work on the yuzu switch emulator especially for the steam deck, witch is based on Arch Linux.

If you haven't put in an order for Steam Deck already you are at least another year off. Maybe you can pay 2-3x for a scalped one.

Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc

The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.

These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs
