Trying out Sugimori/Pokémon artstyle

This is Sappo (OC/Mascot), it was my first attempt at the official artstyle

not sure, maybe I will turn this into a regular artwork thread, but I rarely draw nowadays

yes it is much more stylized, but I am taking baby steps (my usual proportions differ a bit)

In addition I use 3D models a lot when trying to make a pose so this affects it too

The art style looks so reminiscent to the Gen 4 Pokemon art imo.

I used Kalos art as reference, so not sure why does it look like Sinnoh art

Decided to illustrate late president Satoru Iwata

I still miss him after so many years, he was a great game developer

(thinking how to make the illustration stand out more as Pokémon-like)
