Actually I fixed it myself xD. I hex edited all of the IDs that were checked (so mine works perfectly now and guess what, MS2Previewer now has it as an option xD)
I just wish that the images didn't have that slight quality loss, but its a hell of a lot better than nothing at all xD

Quality loss ? No way.
When PNG files are converted/compressed into TGF you loose picture quality already.
So unpacking only restore the TGF quality into PNG format.

We have found a workaround with Cheryl Natsu the author of ez skin forger. We package sources files also in the .skn files but with .ini extension so they are not converted.

Hope this help.

Is it possible it works to me because I only tried the standard skin that comes with moonshl 2.1 and the skin I made with the same skintool?
Can't see why not - I tried the Blue XMB skin (which is a 'type 5' skin apparently) with it

Didn't work first time - until I did the HEX editing 'trick'. Once done it worked fine for me

Thanks Icebird..... but I'm an idiot and sent you my testing code that "works" but does not function.

Here is the proper, working, non-test code:
Code:
@echo off
cls
echo.
set skin=
set /p skin=Enter the name of the skin:
set skin=%skin:.skn=%
makeskin.exe -d %skin%.skn

Enjoy!

Noticed it already

But how did you get it to work while it first didn't work to you?
Please update your filetrip version with this fixed makeskin.exe for skn type 5.
