Hacking Using USB + SD Card

Is it possible to use a USB for Wii U games + SD Card for emulators etc at the same time; using the WUP installer thing?

I use an µSD to USB adapter with an 128GB Sandisk µSD, but loading times were faster when I was using an HDD.

But I just have one free USB port at the back that's why I went for an SD card.
