Hacking why do slot 1 cards reduce battery life?

for all ds' how come slot 1 cards reduce battery and why dont actual games do that

i was just wondering since it always seems i need to recharge my dsl although it new
but still
since it does that which one of the flashcarts have the best battery life use for the dsl

Flashcarts drain the battery life simply because they have extra hardware. A slot-1 card needs a SD controller, which includes a few things like a clock so make serial reads/writes along with the ROM that holds the bootloader and is visible to the DS.

Original DS games have just 2 componets, the ROM (game) and EEPROM (save)

It's weird though, my NDSL last almost an hour longer with my slot 1 card than it did with comerical games

test out your sleepmode, and then try to come to the same conclusion

I find game play wise, there's no real noticeable change

go to sleep mode and you notice a HUGE difference

I thought it was just R4 that drained battery...
