Gaming Wii Black Screen

After 3 years of collecting dust, I finally booted my wii. To my surprise, the wiimote does not sync anymore. I could not get it to sync no matter what. Hours later of trying to find out what's wrong, the wii went into black screen.

Anything I can do to salvage my wii??

It should not have gone bad just sitting there, unless in the heat or cold. Is it hacked?
