Gaming Wii mini, anyone know any specs for it?

I'm curious about what the wii mini can do. Does it only play wii games, can it play CDs or DVDs. I know it has no Internet connection support. Just really curious, cause I love how's its a top loader.

Probably not, unless they manage to flash new NANDs to it that somehow have preinstalled apps.

It will still have a NAND, otherwise where would games/Miis be saved? Brawl -> Stack Smash -> HBC.

The original (retail) Wii didn't play DVDs, so it's really doubtful the new one will.

The wii mini sucks. No GCN support (that was a given, without even knowing the specs). No internet, guys? Ugh. This should sell for $50. The last time I bought a full featured Wii it cost me $129 shipped and well worth it. One of the best consoles of all time and I am a former xbox360 fan.

I'm sure you'll be seeing these second hand fast for sub-$85 range. People who get this "present" (I leave a lot of those in the toilet) for christmas aren't going to be happy.

Basically no SD card support, they removed 480p support and totally no net access aka no USB ethernet support. The only good thing is lower power usage than the Wii.

Lol, power usage? Who cares about that.
I got a wii for $93 and it's worth it. Not like a piece of plastic for $100.

This may seem like an awkward release, but then again. It all comes down to business and making money.
Nintendo will probably roll out some GC-games for VC on Wii-U later on, so it´s clear that they want to cut the option to play these. All in all, it´s a real crackdown on piracy, wich I think is good. But it´s also a crackdown on the gamers that legally wants to play the older stuff =(. I am glad that I got myself a brand new & boxed Wii with GC-compatibility, so I will still be able to play my old GC-games in the future.
