Hacking Wii prob

Hello I recently got another wii of eBay This one has a strange problem with wii discs,
It can play gamecube games perfectly but when I press start in the disc channel with a wii game the system crashes and won't give out any signal to the tv for at least half an hour,
When It turns back on it just works but whenever I try to play wii games it just crashes like I said before.
Please help mii with this wii

EDIT: This is not a hacked wii and it is on 3.1e firmware

What game have you tried? and does it have a modchip installed?

update your IOSs

u can use my tool here to do that for you if u like

or u can use dop-ios and a wifi connection

EDIT: u may as well update to 4.2 while your at it, just reinstall priiloader afterwards as it gets uninstalled when u install a new system menu

Updating online through the system menu
(settings > system update)

It'll bring you to 4.2 atm.

u can update via ninty if u want, but u would have to rehack your wii, not hard though

if u update using my link above, you won't lose any of your current softmods (which you may want to update anyways)

its possible, it sounds like one of your IOSs isn't working properly, and whatever wii game you're trying to play is calling to that IOS and its crashing... your gamecube games still work because that calls a ©MIOS, which must be new enough to handle whatever gamecube games you throw at it
