Hey guys, I just beat that game, but I want to go back and collect all Chaos Emeralds. Any idea how to go about that? Particularly, how to trigger the special stages? I can't figure out the mechanic behind making the big ring at the end of the regular stages appear.

Have 50 rings or more at the end of the stage. Just like Sonic 1 and Sonic CD.

Any more info on that, please? Does one have to install all wads, if so, why and is it safe etc. bla?

Whoever said the stages are exactly the same is sorely mistaken. I owned a genesis and played the sh/t out of sonic growing up. The stages are inspired by the old sonic games but are obviously different.

imo I think they did a decent job on ep.1. Could of been better, sure, but its not a bad game at all and certainly feels like playing a new/updated version of an old sonic game.As someone mentioned previously, the physics feel a little off. The new targeting feature makes things easier but its still a challenging game. I'd give it a solid 8/10 and hope the next episodes are just as good or better.
