Hi, I've been trying for two days to get Xenoblade Chronicles working on my wii. I've tried multiple dumps of it, I've found one that works perfect on my friends Wii but just not mine. In any loader I try, it hangs on "booting game". I mainly use CFG to play games so this is my main basis. I have a syscheck report if anyone can tell me what is wrong. Thanks in advance!

My hard drive is a WD 500GB hard drive, and the partition I'm using is FAT32, Xenoblade Chronicles was added successfully using Wii Backup Manager.

your syscheck isn't giving all the needed info...make sure the cIOS you are loading the game on is base 56 and you should be good.

there are syscheck versions out there that identify the cIOS bases if you are unsure....modmii's does IIRC.

you might try d2x-v8[56] as well assuming the loaders you use are loading on 249.

Sorry it's been a super long time that I've hacked my wii, before this week. How do I know if I'm launching CFG with base 56? I installed a cIOS using d2x cios installer with the base as 56, cios v10 I believe and cios slot 249

i'm pretty sure the loaders default to IOS249 unless you specifically changed it (i know wiiflow does at least; i'm not too familiar with CFG). CFG probably tells you what IOS and base it's running on somewhere in the settings. you can also specify the launch IOS for each game in the setting for that game. ...make sure the game is loading on base [56] as well.... try all your cIOS (22x, 24x, or 250) if 249 isn't working.....one of them should work

XenoBlade isn't really a finicky game, the fact that you've tried different dumps and have at least one working on a wii is a bit baffling to me. it's an IOS53 game and doesn't reload any IOS during booting or gameplay IIRC.... any [56] should load it no problems...[57] should too. ...it doesn't even need d2x to load it.... i'd play around with a few configurations for you on my system, but i just set my friend up with my wii HDD and have yet to buy another....

Ya it's really odd because like it hangs on booting game on anything. I'll try other configurations, I'll also try using the ModMii syscheck updater to update outdated things on my wii. Thanks for the help!

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
