Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator has been ported to Android

The Yuzu development team has just released their Nintendo Switch emulator for a new platform. Today, Yuzu has been ported to Android, bringing yet another Nintendo Switch emulator to mobile devices. This release follows nearly a month after Skyline ended its development. Yuzu for Android's initial release lacks parity with the desktop version, and it currently does not have LDN multiplayer and other features, as the team wants to focus on optimization first and foremost.

You need Android 11 and some Vulkan extensions in order to run Yuzu. You can grab the emulator from the Google Play Store if you want to try it out. A full blog post on the official Yuzu site also details the development process of the port.

Nintendo must be feeling the heat not to have their next console almost hacked immediately and then emulated on PC/Android. 😆

Just loaded it on my S22 Ultra and it runs ToTK at like 5 fps. I bet other games are decent... but don't expect too much.
Figures.

It probably requires a high-end Android device. I've got an A53 and it can't run GCN games smoothly, but I'm happy it plays DC buttery smooth (kind of prefer it, tbh).

My Galaxy Tab S7+ (512GB - 8GB), when I run any Game, it has the Control Overlay in Landscape, along with Menu, Game List, and Settings. However, the Game I try to run........Portrait

It does a clicking sound and Windows doesn't recognize it
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
clicking = bad, i'd still try it on a linux box or a mac, out of desperation
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Do you recommend any way to back up?
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
I will keep trying, but that clicking sound seems like the moving parts are stuck or something
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
