been a while since I blogged about wii homebrew

I am still working on NewoZero. Going to drop the v4.0 update at some point in December 2023. The game looks much better when its running at full speed on a wii or emulated in dolphin. Download the latest beta to try it out early. Here are some shots of a new area I am working on.

This is some seriously beautiful stuff. Is there a way to make the track translucent? I know it's not the way it is planned, but adding to it a bit of color with a lot of transparency could make it pop a little bit.

Its so beautiful...

In the options you can turn off the track lines or change the colour scheme to neon.

@eyeliner seeing the city under the track is part of the vibe of the game, Only the rails are highlighted. but the textures for the track that are stored in the folder could also be modded to be a solid colour. they are PNGs so they have a alpha/transparency level.

even though you just see dots , the texture covers the entire width of the track section. Only problem you'd face if you made it solid that is that the textured track does not extend far into the distance.

Holy shit.. I always thought it was always just gonna be basic vector/low poly graphics (like how the track is drawn) for performance reasons (as well as just aesthetic) but seeing actual textures on the buildings.. It's nice!

The aesthetic and the performance is the same, it just has more stuff. I am learning and getting better at putting things on the screen because I have been working on it for like 2-3 years now. Its evolving little by little.
