determining if hax is real or not

someone came onto #3dshacks on Rizon and talked about a browserhax that ended up fake. so here's a list of things to watch out for!
  • has the person released previous exploits before? (if so, a new one is probably guaranteed to be real)
  • has the person created any kind of software before? probably using something like C
  • does the person get defensive when questioned?
  • does the person say something along the lines of "I have better things to do than answer questions" or "I don't have time to answer questions"?
  • does the person say they won't talk about the hax after being questioned about it?
  • does the person say they probably won't release it ever?
  • does the person have any idea what they're talking about?
[21:27:28] +ihaveamac: haxmaster123: you're funny
[21:27:50] +haxmaster123: I'm back
[21:28:08] LimitServ sets mode +l 243
[21:28:33] +ihaveamac: new browserhax "but it does have access to arm9" <- wut
[21:28:47] +Moskau: I am 1337 haxx0r with access to arm9 kernel
[21:29:04] +smartperson: hallo
[21:29:12] +ihaveamac: "prob not gonna release" <- would you mind telling me why I should believe it's real too, after the line above?
[21:38:51] +ihaveamac: if it's a real exploit, give it to yellows8
[21:39:00] +haxmaster123: uh... no
[21:39:05] +haxmaster123: why would i do that
[21:39:12] +ihaveamac: because they have all of the browser exploits
[21:39:21] +ihaveamac: they are asking for users to help find webkit exploits
[21:40:21] +haxmaster123: I have a github account, i'd host it there
[21:40:37] +haxmaster123: instead of a different website i dont have control on
[21:40:46] +haxmaster123: and im not gonna make it open-source
[21:40:50] +ihaveamac: then nobody will use it
[21:40:58] +ihaveamac: also, if it's javascript, it's technically open source
[21:41:01] +ihaveamac: it will be reversed
[21:41:24] +smartperson: It’s dangerous for someone to use hax which are closed source. If they’re legit, who know what they might do to the console?
[21:41:37] +ihaveamac: here, answer me this one thing:
[21:41:43] +ihaveamac: what is the one process the arm9 always runs?
[21:42:50] +ihaveamac: it's not directly related to your webkit exploit, so I'd like to know
[21:43:23] +haxmaster123: i have better things to do then answer questions
[21:43:32] +ihaveamac: sorry but you are talking out of your ass

While I would love to find an exploit, I know nothing in C or C++ so I won't be able to find it probably. Though one things for sure is that I won't be a lier and say I found one when I really didn't.

I have to ask, is the conversation real or forged? I mean the names. Smartperson, haxmaster123, seem generic so excuse me if i am wrong. I know is not the key point to the post but still i wonder you actually write all of this out as you thought to do, or perhaps copy and pasted, but alter names protecting identity?

Anyway, i know how to avoid fake stuff. If playing phoenix wright taught me anything is you investigate until proof is presented and press the witness until you point out contradictions. I won't have to worry about such things, i just need to wait for someone to just post it on the front page, is litterally stuck on my chrome cast viewing scree, just wish i had a auto page refresh thing for it. :P

@Sonic Angel Knight this is a very real 100% legit conversation I had on IRC, with some unrelated messages removed. the names sound weird, yes, but those were the real names. I can give you the entire log from when they joined and left if you want.

No, is fine, if that is the name then okay. It just seem ver common, that was my concern, that alone is supicious, sometimes i know names are altered when sharing stuff like this with others for idenity protection purposes, (Example, using a opponet in a video of a online match against them losing) will censor the name to prevent any unwanted messages on their inbox or whatever. I just didn't think someone would have names of "Smartperson" or "Haxmaster123" especially in this day and age, is 2016, were not "AOL" anymore :P

How old do you think that kid is? Ten? Twelve?

Fricken millennial children already spreading their internet BS. We have enough internet BS already.
