Should I sell my DS or PSP? :\

I'm trying to get an eeePC, and I've decided that I need to sell one of my hand-helds to make funds for it. I usually use my DS the most, and I was pretty set on selling my PSP, but now that I've looked at the pros and cons, I can't really decide...

DS
Pros:
Really fun games

PSP
Pros:
MP3 Player
Videos
There are SOME good PSP games
Really good at emulating stuff (GBA, SNES, PSX)

At first, my reasoning was that I should sell my PSP because there's barely any good PSP games, which is true cause I've already played most of the good ones and the others just aren't my cup of tea. Plus, once I get my eeePC, I can just download an emulator for PSX, SNES, etc.

But today I was thinking that I could also sell my DS... Since Im also selling my iPod, if I sell my PSP Ill have no portable music player (no, the DS doesn't count because it sucks at playing music). Although there are a lot of good DS games, I'm pretty sure there's an emulator for the PC that runs most if not all DS games at full/nearly full speed. I can't remember what it was called, but I remember using it a couple months ago to try out the JUS English patch... everything except the intro FMV worked full speed.

So I don't really know :\ Basically, I use my DS the most, but if I sell it the only thing I'll be missing out on is DS games, which can be played with an emulator. On the other hand, if I sell my PSP, I'll have no way to emulate PSP games, I won't have a portable emulator for PSX, SNES, GBA, etc, and I wont have a portable music and video player. What do you guys think?

DS is fine for videos and music. Just use moonshell, and the ipod clone, lmp-ng, is good for playing music.

You can use no$gba for GBA games and DS games, it runs pretty well. If you want to play GBA games on your DS, you could get a slot-2 card, maybe an EZ Flash 3-in-1. On DX, it only costs about $20.

very hard to decide on that one :P
i would go look for a job
because assasin creed little big planet motorstorm are coming to the psp
and for the ds are also gooed games :P

@Sephi: I don't really watch videos that often, but when I do, I definitely don't want to spend my time converting the video to .dpg and watching it in such horrible quality. Also, I've tried lmp, it sounds horrible if you go past 100% volume and it could also damage your DS's speakers.

I actually had a 3-in-1 but I sold it because the PSP is much better for playing GBA games. (Which I don't do that often anyway)

@soulfire: If I could just go out and get a job, don't you think I would have done so? I wouldn't even have made this thread because I wouldn't even need to sell anything.

PSP i have a friend with a psp for listening music and i don't see why it's so big and bulky, and videos and emulators can all be done on a computer and i tried no$gba and i don't like it for DS the only thing i can see using the psp for is the browser which i use too check gbatemp all the time.

Good points. Im sure some stylus-heavy games might get a little tedious using the emulator.

I really don't understand why you would keep your PSP if you're keeping it for media and emulation. You said your getting some kind of portable computer so wouldn't the computer just do the media+emulation 100x better than your PSP and you can keep your DS for your handheld gaming needs? It just doesn't make sense to me why you wouldn't sell the thing that you are going to buy a much better version of. In terms of emulation+media, portable computer >>>>>> PSP so technically there really is no reason you are keeping your PSP, maybe for the slight trickle of better games than the DS that it has.

I'm also voting for selling the PSP. Using it for MP3 playback on the go isn't that comfortable and the emulators would probably run better on you eeePC whereas a DS emulator really isn't the same as playing it on the hardware itself.

I sold my phat PSP about 5 months ago because I was barely using it (had it since the japanese launch) and as of now I don't regret it.

i have both too... and if i ever get to a point that i need to sell one of my consoles (i have 6), the PSP is the 1st one i'd think about selling... with the X360 and the DS in the last place.

i dont like to watch videos on the go, for music, i have my N73 ME, i like the emus on the PSP, but i can live w/o'em... so for me its kinda a no brainer.

You use speakers?
OH HO HO HO HO HO

Sorry, but using the built in speakers and complaining sounds silly because you're missing out on a lot of the sound quality.

Yeah, you guys have made some really valid points. I'm glad I made this thread, now I'm pretty sure that I want to sell my PSP. Thanks for all the help tempers!
