Job interview tomorrow

Yeah, so heading away from the middle schooler who makes $140/hour, I have an interview for an internship at a software company tomorrow.

I emailed them a week ago and I'm surprised I heard back from them. I actually don't really want to anymore that much...but money is money. I make about $20 a day off of Android app sales, which is enough for daily spending, but I guess it would be nice to start some soft of real savings. Speaking of savings, I get an inheritance of $11,000 from my late grandmother (whom I still miss very much though it was about 7 years ago) once I turn 18 this summer.

As a software intern, no clue what they're gonna make me do. Probably paperwork? Also what should I wear to my interview? Dress shirt and tie or khaki pants and polo (tucked in)? These people came to us during career day (which is how I found out about them) and they were wearing polos and khakis. I've never been to a job interview (all of my previous jobs I managed to get without one).

Tough call- IT intern usually means he who gets to roll around under desks swapping out network cables, makes the tea and general scut work at least for the first week or three and the like but interviews, especially when they probably have a whole host of people to pick from, I am told making an effort is usually worth it. First day as well but once you have the lay of the land dress accordingly (sounds like polo shirts and the like).

Equally if looks like it comes down to programming (as opposed to some sys/db admin work) consider brushing up on recursion (learn to make a program more or less from memory that works out the factorial of an input number) and if your languages use them then pointers as well- common enough "tests" they like to do in interviews ( http://www.joelonsoftware.com/ is a pretty good resource for interview related nonsense). Equally do consider dragging along some of your projects.

Hope it goes well.

I thought that $11,000 said $110,000 for a second...

Anyway, that's awesome. Good luck on your interview. You could work and get money on top of your app income, which is awesome.

I'm wondering, what android app(s) did you make?
I made one a while ago, but never got motivated enough to finish it and put it on the market.

Sorry, I'm keeping my online personal life and online business presence separate...

@FAST: Thanks for the tips, I am hoping for IT work, mainly because I have had only one year of formal coding experience (equivalent of the first college Comp Sci). I think I will be alone in the interview because they gave me a choice of when to come in. I can do recursion and such so as long as its something like factoring numbers that they're asking me to do (and not recursive data work) I should be fine.

Right now I'm working on updating my resume, I guess I'll find some of my more complicated school projects and attach those? (Good idea or no?) And my Android stuff I guess.

No, I'm talking about the other blog below me in which a kid claims he makes more than lawyers and doctors.

so... none. At least, none worth mentioning, right? ;) It's ok, I've made a few "hello world"s myself.

Good luck at the job interview.

No, I wasn't kidding. It's in the top 100 apps under the Social category on the Android marketplace.
