FUCKING SUCKS!
Okay, I'm a huge fan of Super Meat Boy, Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, but "The Binding of Isaac" is just a horrible game all together. How anybody finds it fun is beyond me. Everybody says "it's reminiscent of the old Zelda". No it isn't, it's a piece of garbage. I know the original Zelda game very well, and not once did I feel like saying "wow, this sure does remind me of it".
Mainly, here's my gripe with the games:
- Control:
How they managed to fuck this up is nothing short of astonishing. I've played Meat Boy both on the PC and 360 to 100% completion, and that's because the controls were fucking spot. on. They were amazing! Isaac's controls are waaay too slippery to feel like you have any control over him at all.
- Level designs:
What a joke. There is literally no design to the levels at all. Nuff said.
- Music:
Where did all the cool music go that the other games had? This one has the most boring, most repetitive music ever.
- Gameplay
The most important. The gameplay in Isaac sucks. You go around rooms (that all look the same) and kill enemies to unlock doors until you find your way to the boss room. Now, that wouldn't be so bad, IF THE ENEMIES WERE ACTUALLY BETTER DESIGNED! You can move Isaac no problem, but if you seen an enemy coming at you from an angle, you better watch the fuck out because you can't shoot in angles. You can only shoot horizontally, or diagonally. And that wouldn't be so bad, but majority of the enemies in the game, are coming at you from angles. The enemies can also shoot projectiles to hurt you over blocks, and other things, but your weapon (which is Isaac's tears btw) can't. So you have to run in front of enemies (this especially sucks when it's just one little walk way where an enemy is blocking you), and pray that you hit the bad guy. And to make it even more worse, when you're moving, your tears move too. It's hard to explain, but if you go in front of them and shoot while you're moving even if just a little bit, your tear will miss it's mark and the enemy has open range on you.
How the hell is this game getting so much praise? Granted I got it on Steam when it was only a buck, but still. I honestly can't see me playing this once I get the challenge in it. It's a broken, repetitive, unplayable mess of a game that should have had more work done on it.
