I briefly played dragon's dogma on ps3 but I never went too far. Even after the re-release of the game, I haven't developed any interest to play the game, because it's well, an open world game.
Anyway, to cut the story short, the ending of the anime version is taking the plot from Shadow of Colossus. The one who slayed the monster would become the monster itself. Unfortunately for our hero, his humanity was lost and he became the dragon who will begin another cycle of destruction.
The anime has a very good quality, story-wise it's very condensed, but it's still enjoyable. The music is also gorgeous. But I was not prepared that the protagonist's fate was to become corrupted. Is it still a hero's journey?
