Shady Acres Report

Well young 'uns, it seems I miscalculated with this whole blog malarkey.

Apparently I need to keep on doing it regularly or my bowels will back up or something equakky nasty (according to my grandson at least).

So you want to hear about my day ? Well, to be honest and perfectly frank, at my time of life the days seem to blend into one another. I was looking through the grandson's "ipod" (?) the other day and I found a song by someone called "Nine Inch Nails" that summed things up perfectly - "Every day is exactly the same". I can't say I find Mr Razor's "music" all that appealing, but he obviously understands and empathises with your average OAP. Good for him. What a nice fella. But not as good a singer as Cliff.

Anyhoo, on the subject of these ipod thingies - how in God's name do you fit all the CDs into them ? They're tiny! Is it some sort of magic ?

When I was younger we had Walkmans, and to carry more than a few albums worth of tapes around you needed a bloody wheelbarrow and the strength of Samson.

Grandson brought round some of his herbal remedy again tonight, and wifey and me nodded off in front of the telly while he rifled through the kitchen cupboards asking where we kept the coffee jar with all the cash in it. I've told him he doesn't need to bother putting money in there for us, we're doing all right. But every time he comes round he makes a beeline for it, bless him. He's a good lad. Works in The City apparently, does a lot of dealing. Never thought he'd amount to much, but it just goes to show. Fancy us having an Investment Banker in the family. We all thought he'd end up selling drugs or something daft like that.

Well, I'm toddling off to bed now you young whippersnappers. I'm just making a cup of Horlicks for me an wifey first.

Now where on earth did these two huge bags of sugar come from ?

And why are they wrapped in clear plastic, instead of the good old fashioned printed paper bags ?

Doesn't taste like sugar used too either.............
