Nah it's a trademark, not a copyright. Which means they own the use of it only in certain contexts. As KingVamp pointed out, Meta owns the trademark for use in social media contexts, so Elon is double-fucked there.

Correct. A trademark can be stamped on the name for a product or company, whereas a copyright protects authorship for the works that this person created. Elon in this case, double-dicked himself round the arse as here, he might've committed 'trademark infringement' by using the name that another company had registered under their name.
