If you are on 11.0, I recommend that you follow that tutorial quickly because the next update will probably prevent it. (They just have to update Home Menu)

Interesting. What if someone found a way to release a custom CIA file to replace the update? Remove/change the hard coded list and change the version data to something the updated 3DS will accept, and then use that to downgrade?

Edit: Thought it over, and realized I wasn't thinking about signatures.

just follow the tutorial very, very, very carefully.
if you don't have experience, follow the first link, for someone to hardmod it for yourself :P
If you have, follow the second very carefully
i know how to use the soldor,bt i am always scared,and never used on expensive things..only on cheap integrated or so...i hoped there may be a way to avoid the use of the soldor

nope, you have to use a solder. if you are scared ask someone(first link) to hardmod it for you. It's really not that expensive, considering that a mistake can cost you $200

I was going to start this but looks like I have to wait for a OOT3DHax update

Your welcome, just follow the directions below and you should be able to do it.:)

Did you make sure your using the right files for the system? Yes, each one is for new 3ds and old 3ds.
Start by doing this
  1. Insert Legend of zelda Ocarina of time into your system.
  2. Start the game and hold A,B,X,Y
  3. A menu to format the system will load upon boot, proceed to confirm format game card.
  4. Download this archive.https://gbatemp.net/attachments/oot3dhax_11_0-zip.54167/
  5. *Extract the archive that reperesents your setup and put the files in the folders on to the sd card with cfw (Homebrew enabled)
  6. Use the latest version of FBI installer 2.3.1 Or the SVDT (I used fbi) And inject the "SAVE00.BIN" And "PAYLOAD.BIN" Files to the game card.
  7. Download the homebrew starter pack from here. https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip
  8. Extract the contents and put it on the sd card. Make sure the "BOOT.3DSX" file is on the root of the sdcard (Not iniside any folders) And that there is a 3DS folder on there too (DO not confuse with "NINTENDO 3DS Folder, as they both serve different Purposes)
  9. Insert game card into the any 3ds with firmware 11.0.0-33, and proceed to load the save file hax as normal and press A button.
  10. WELCOME TO THE HOMEBREW:)
For step 5 Please note there are 3 folders, USA EUR JAN Inside is NEW OLD folders. Use the one that represents your setup. For example i use a USA OLD so i would use that, But depending on the system and country you are, it may be different. Check system menu for what system you have

By looking at the firmware version (Mine is 11.0.0-33-U) the letter will tell you what region your system is.
USA = U (NTSC-U)
EUR = E (PAL-E)
JAP = J (NTSC-J)

In addition to the system the old and new ones are as followed.
Old = Nintendo 3ds, Nintendo 2ds, Nintendo 3ds XL
New = NEW Nintendo 3ds, NEW Nintendo 3ds XL
This should be obvious and not needed to be explained but why not?:ninja:

I'm sure you're aware at this point since this is kinda old but if you aren't OoTHax is available now for 11.0

Using electric tape in place of solder is never a good idea, especially considering the rather small solder points on the 3DS board. It might work if you're extremely careful about it, but it's not worth the overall insecurity of trying to hold it together with tape. One accidental tug and you could disconnect the wire or worse, short something important out.

That being said, it's not like the soldering itself is particularly difficult, so yes, you could even borrow the tools or have someone make the solders for you.

    I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

    I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

    Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

    @Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?

    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
