    that's where it went wrong. the game saves the names to your save file, so it loaded the blank names instead of the ones in the game data. you'll have to start a new game to get the names to show up.

    yes, the titles folder. if you're supposed to place something in a folder, and the folder doesn't exist, you make the folder yourself. unless you start modifying games there's no reason for that folder to be there.

    "XL LL" says nothing about region. in japan it's just LL without the XL, so if someone says "XL LL" it means it will fit both and they don't know or don't want to bother telling you what region it is.

    hans is not an option, it crashes the moment you select the game before you can even select what mods/settings to use. there might be similar methods if you have a cfw, but you'd still need to download or rip the entire game because the patch is a "differences" file and not actual usable game...

    i got the game a while ago hoping it would work through hans, but it was one of the few old games that would crash. now with fasthax i'm finally able to play it in english. the translation looks good so far.

    extra tip: make a homescreen layout backup(in home settings) the sysnand restore resets game icons, you'll keep your folders but the games will be reset to the main screen. i forgot, and now have to manually restore the layout using an old backup.

    like me, he probably followed the guide to the letter and did rename it like that. and that is exactly why it went wrong, the file needs to be named up_Decrypt9WIP.bin

    extra warning: keep your n3DS away from magnets, they can accidentally trigger standby which can brick it during some steps.
