At some point, many of you will encounter an issue with your SD cards not being able to be read.
If you are lucky, the cable has just come loose from the motherboard. If you are unlucky, the motherboard connector is damaged.
The main cause of a broken SD card connector on the motherboard is...
I just set up homebrew on a friends Wii. USB Loader GX works fine if I use my hd that is formatted as WBFS.
Since she wanted to be able to use her HD for her PC too I used NTFS for hers and used Wii Backup Manager copy the games from my WBFS partition to the wbfs folder on her drive.
When I...
(ah, I see now someone posted that it needs sm 4.2 installed. Does anyone know exactly what IOS the Netflix disk requires to be updated?)
If I try to use the (original) Netflix disk through the disk channel on my Wii with WiiKey2, I get a 002 error every time.
Any idea why? (using sm 4.1U)
I...
Some hardware tinkerers may find this useful.
It is a small board that plugs into the end of a nunchuck or classic controller cable to convert it to a standard 4-pin header.
It eliminates the need to cut the cable off a nunchuck if you want to use it for projects.
Since the nunchuck and classic...
To the people that create the various USB Loader programs....
Please help the Wii forums by changing the error messages you report when the USB drive cannot be found.
Change the error screen to suggest plugging the drive into the other USB port.
If possible, include a picture to show the...
I posted this in the news section but wanted to include it here to see if we can generate a practical homebrew use for the way they are using the WiiMotes:

Notice the WiiMotes above, with IR leds around them. Hmm. Interesting way to track hand motion.
I was in a GameStop today and overheard the employees talking about a theft risk with the Beetles RockBand packaging.
Apparently there is a slot on the side of the box. Directly inside that slot is where the game is sitting.
Anyone can just reach inside the box and take out the game.
They are...
Is there any way that perhaps WAD Manager could be modified to incorporate some kind of sanity check on wad files before it tries to install/uninstall them?
For example:
1. Detect if a WAD has a bad banner
2. If a wad includes changes to IOS60, warn the user
3. Report how many blocks are free...
Back before USB loaders were worked out, there was a lot of talk of the Wii units put in hospitals and such.
AKA Starlight Nintendo Fun Center.
Did anyone ever work out exactly how the HD was implemented on those units?
If so, did any of that aid the development of the USB loaders?
If you see odd folders on your SD card that you cannot delete, or folders are missing that you know were there before, this will help.
This is usually caused by removing your SD card/card reader from your Windows computer without using the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon near the Windows clock...
Does anyone know a release date for this?
I know it is being released in Japan first, but can't find any information on the date.
Of course my inability to read japanese doesn't help (I can speak a little).
I would really like to see a Wii interpreter written for TADS (Text Adventure Development System) files.
There are many great games written in this free software.
The ability to support HTML TADS would be a definate plus. HTML TADS can contain graphics and sound, in addition to text formatting...
ADRIFT is a toolkit for creating interactive fiction titles.
A runner that can interpret ADRIFT created files would be great.
The main ADRIFT web site is here: http://www.adrift.org.uk
A clone written in ANSI/ISO C is available here: http://www.geocities.com/legion_if/scare.html
Of course for...
I found an odd bug when playing Disc Golf using the WM+.
Instead of trying to throw the disc how you normally would, try this:
1) Pick up the disc by holding B
2) Point the Wiimote at your feet
3) Swing the Wiimote directly upwards and release B
(like if you were trying to throw something...
I have not used Ocarina before, but I want to be able to use it to bypass the disk check for Metroid Prime 3 so I can play MP3 from the CoverFlow USB loader.
Do I need Ocarina installed, or just CoverFlow? The instructions are unclear as to whether Ocarina is directly integrated into CoverFlow...
I have been using CoverFlow with a USB HD and have a bunch of Wii isos on there.
Is there any way to have GC games on HD too?
CoverFlow does not recognize GC disks if you try to rip them from there, and WBFS Manager shows GC disks as 0 size for data.
So does the file system have any...
Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)
I only watch tv when i goto bed, it puts me to sleep, and I have a nas drive filled w my fav shows so i can watch them in order, commercial free. I usually watch Married w Children, or South Park
oh you mean the 3rd party apps on Kodi, yea i know what you mean, yea there are still a few cool ones, in fact watched the new planet of the apes movie other night w wifey thru one, was good pic surprisingly, not a cam
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
I had to find and get him an old style flip phone even without text, cause thats what he wanted. No text, no internet, only phone calls. Old, old school.
@BigOnYa, Lol I bought a new USB card reader thing on AliExpress last month for I think like 87 cents. Free shipping from China... It arrived it works and honestly I don't understand how it was so cheap.
