    Office app with built-in OCR?

Hey guys! An off-topic query here: it seems like I'll be starting a regular 9-5 office job soon, and the team is looking for recommendations for a good DMS (document management software) tool. Given how I haven't got any hands-on experience with those, I thought one of you could point me in the...

Which Call of Duty Game should I play?

I like Black Ops 2 a lot, but for me, no CoD game will ever top the first Modern Warfare

    Dune: Part Two

I have the books and am yet to begin reading them, I'm ashamed to admit... Liked the first part a lot (it was far better than the D. Lynch movie, though I like that one as well), so I got sky-high expectations for part 2. Perhaps my ignorance of the source material is a pro and a con here? I'm...

The new Prince of Persia doesn't look or feel much like a PoP game...

I think it's made by the same guys who made the latest Rayman games, and those are excellent IMO. But yeah, the aesthetics have nothing in common with any of the games released under that name in the past 30 years, so they really should've titled it differently

    Insomnia

I can totally relate with the OP, the more I think about the act of falling a sleep, the more out of reach it becomes and the more agitated I get... Some nights I just give up and instead just focus on the fact that I'll be grumpy the entirety of the following day and will have to slog through...

    Lies of P Demo

Yeah, me too! Not sure if I'd pay full price for it, though, the more I played it, the more aware I became of the fact that no developer will ever beat FROM at the genre they spawned... Lies of P is great but to a point, I don't see it crossing a certain threshold and standing...

    Advice for a digital-only startup

I guess your success will depend on how truly devoted you're to that idea. I'm sure you're aware your pitch is far from a unique concept, but that doesn't mean you can't turn it into a decent source of income. If you don't get discouraged in the first 100 days, you just might stand a chance...

    Lies of P Demo

Been playing this for the past hour, seems really effing good! I now we'll never get a Bloodborne 2 or even a remaster, so I guess I'm allowed to get hyped about a well-made BB knock-off... Anyone else sampled it yet?

Am I the only one who has live-service fatigue?

Warframe is the only live-service free-to-play game that's worth the hassle, IMO. Though that one is too, far from perfect and supremely repetitive

Buying cool shoelaces for your favorite sneakers?

This is something I've caught myself doing a few times in the past, getting new laces for the sneakers I wear the most. I do (or at least try to) lead an active lifestyle, so spare laces are something I always bring for week-long camping trips. Still, I sometimes get wackier ones, just for...

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

@Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Speaking of which

    @SylverReZ,
I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
