Hey guys, I have a bit of a more technical question. I was wondering what type of assembly language I would need to know for the 3DS' ARM architecture. I'm guessing it would be helpful for any future tinkering of the 3DS.
Well I'm not sure about this. I guess you would do it like on a ARMv6 CPU. That's just the CPU, though.
should be ARMv6, so ARM, THUMB and THUMB 2, although i have no idea which featuresets the official 3ds compiler utilizes.

So my problem is that yesterday I had to update my 3ds to access e-shop.. and now my R4i isn't working.
I've put the latest kernel on my sdhc card - 1.76b -> http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp - and inserted it into my R4i 3ds.
When im trying to access my R4i card i get the black screen and 'An error has occured. Press and hold power button to turn the system off. Please refer to the operations manual for details."
So basically i cant even do this -> http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/stepimgs/ens.jpg because I cant even get that R4i menu opened.
Do I have to wait for kernel update or... something else is the problem? I do not have any other consoles so i can't check if it works on others.

You needed to update your Card's kernel before updating the 3DS.
You will need another console to update your card.
always check if your current card's firmware is compatible with the Console's version you want to install or you won't be able to update it later (because it's not even recognized).

that's not the problem.
The problem is the flashcart's firmware, not the microSD's files.
You need to update your internal flashcart's program to work on newer consoles.

Next, you need emulators. But there are no emulator.
There are no homebrew at all, only playing ROMs is possible.
Oh thanks. And the last one. What I need for playing DS games on Gateway? Anything except the game on memory card?
Been playing 3DS games just fine so far. How do you do it for DS games (apart from using the Blue card instead! ^^)? I'm a total noob in this regard

Use any DS flashcard.
I mean, I have the Gateway, shall I just put the games in the root of the micro SD? And that's it?
Thx! Btw, what's the compatibility list of DS games? I've read something about being able to update the firmware to the Wood 1.62, but actually I have no idea if this affects me in any way or not..
