Anyone successful with modding any of these 4k gaming stick with any other emulators or making it into anything else

Love to fill it with ps1 games or different emulators or flash the firmware it to do other stuff

I don't own one but I thought most of these devices were android systems booting EmuELEC from SD card?

What is the OS/interface you get when you boot it up?
