My SD card is screwed up, moonshell doesn't boot on in. DSVideo and Tuna-Vids players do work on the card but they don't support DPG files.

So is there an alternative to moonshell to play DPG files on DS?

uhm.. either fix Moonshell (reinstalling it? or format your SDcard..?)
or i think you can use the hacked sakura firmware, to play DPG videos (AFAIK it actually works better than Moonshell, though only marginally.)

I've done a full format many times, removed and reinstalled monshell....moonshell simply does not boot on this SD card (2 gig). Works fine on others (1 gig). FYI I'm using SC Lite.

It'd help if you told us which flash card you're using. I'm sure you can fix Moonshell. Delete every file related to it and re-download it.

Using SCLite, but this isn't a software problem, my SD card is corrupted. Programs cannot write to it (ie: games are not saved) And moonshell stops booting while doing the "write test".

Even windows (xp and vista) cannot see the SD card, I have to plug it into an external reader to be able to put anyfiles on it. See this error http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&saf...amp;btnG=Search This cannot be fixed.

So to end: My SD card an only read files - programs cannot write to it - I can only put files on it via an external reader. Yes I know simple solution will be to get a new SD card but I't be great if there is an alternate DPG player.

Do you have the translator card for your microSD to make it a full-sized SD? There should be a switch on it to turn on or off the "read only" mode. Maybe you have your card set to "read only".

That's what it sounds like anyway.

Moonshell is the only DPG player for the DS. You'll have to content yourself with Tuna-viDS. Note that with the most recent version you can actually get up to 15 fps if your video isn't the full 256x192 resolution, which is what I did with some videos.

i'm only talking about this request.
for others it certainly works, but if moonshell doesn't work because of a defective microSD, how much chance is there the super-sensitive m3sakura will work?

well you never know, they are 2 separate and different files.

even though it might not work, are you trying to discourage him from even trying?
if I were him, I'll try anything to be able to view my dpg files.
his question was if there is an alternative, and the hacked sakura is an alternative, so it's answering his question.
if it doesn't work, then too bad but if it does work, then good!
