Hacking Been out the loop for five months someone get me up to speed

I've left the country in june and didn't come back till monday. My wii was 4.0 when i left and i used waninkoko's 4.0 updater. It was softmodded to run backup games off the disc channel. I want to play games like new super mario bros and metroid prime trilogy but so much seemed to have happened when i was gone that i don't know if my wii will play them. So what important updates from the homebrew community have i missed?

well, I don't know what you have missed, so I'll just name the current versions

4.1 (nothing new besides a small Wii sports resort fix)
4.2 (major homebrew blocking update, but can still be hacked)

Oh yeah, New Super Mario Bros Wii has new Piracy protection, but most loaders should fix it (or just get the patched version)
