What I really enjoy anyway. I hope I'm not breaking any unsaid rules or anything with there being two song sticky threads, but I've been really meaning to share with you all these great old songs I used to listen to in my childhood and still do for how good they are, and I finally got myself to make this thread. I reckon many from the new generation haven't had the pleasure of hearing these, I was lucky as my Dad used to listen to a lot of music and our local radio for oldies was one of the best.

This is in no particular order. I'll try to update this if I remember any other songs. For now, I hope you guys enjoy!

F.R. David - Sahara Nights

Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere

Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now

America - You Can Do Magic

Nik Kershaw - I Won't Let The Sun Go Down On Me
(wait for the chorus)

Phil Collins - You Can't Hurry Love
(not his own, but the best version imo)

Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky (lot of you may have probably heard it from Guardians of the Galaxy 2)

Sting (two songs yeah, Englishman in New York is also nice)

Sister Sledge - Frankie

Culture Club - Karma Chameleon

DeBarge - Rhythm Of The Night

Billy Ocean
(so many good songs, and there's more)

Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now

Earth, Wind & Fire - September

The Four Seasons - December, 1963

Beatles - Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
(obligatory, also my favourite of theirs)

Eagles - Hotel California (obviously, and also, for some reason this performance is not on YouTube so here's Dailymotion)
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x30pss5

Toto - Africa (if you haven't heard this, what the flying fuck-)
https://youtu.be/FTQbiNvZqaY

Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing
https://youtu.be/h0ffIJ7ZO4U

Queen
(probably almost everyone knows by now because of the movie, but this is a must)
https://youtu.be/fJ9rUzIMcZQ
https://youtu.be/azdwsXLmrHE
https://youtu.be/f4Mc-NYPHaQ
https://youtu.be/mLRjFWDGs1g
And literally everything else that band made...

The Police - Every Breath You Take
https://youtu.be/OMOGaugKpzs

There's much more but so little time. Only the quality songs here so I hope you guys enjoyed most of them. I think I'll also post some new songs that are similar to old ones that are really good later. Have a good one! :yay:

EDIT: Apparently there is a limit to how much media can be embedded, bummer. I hope you guys still check out the last ones.

Not completely correct but... this is a REALLY odd post. Here's my last.fm stats.

The idea we're talking about the best songs from 100 years assuming no one listens to anything from that timespan.

Huh? I didn't make that assumption at all. I'm just saying many from the new generation may have no heard these, or even older people some of these. It's just a post about the best of the nineteen hundreds in my opinion, nothing odd about that no? I never said no one listens to anything from that timespan... :P

The 80s best decade by far 60s 70s also had great stuff 90s a few good songs and the 2000s just pretty shit really - Ed sheeran most overrated musician in history - people who kno nothing re 80s really should do some homework and then compare to see how shit today's stuff sounds
Oh yeh some classics ther especially rhythm of the night

There are some good modern songs that sound like they're from 1900's though. Notably MAGIC and JP Cooper. Ed Sheeran is kinda overrated, but I like some of his songs tbh, to each their own I guess. :)

And I also have my ps3

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"

If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

    ack my throat

I need to invest in some storage totes tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:

    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Wtf

    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man hole, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
