Absurd Ventures is the new studio of Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser and they have today announced their creative debut, an original IP titled A Better Paradise. This includes an upcoming 12-episode audio fiction series featuring Andrew Lincoln (THE WALKING DEAD), Shamier Anderson (JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4), Paterson Joseph (WONKA), and Rain Spencer (THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY), among others.  A trailer accompanied the announcement:

"I have always loved the intimate experience of audiobooks, radio and podcast dramas," Dan Houser said in a press release. "Audio fiction feels like a really compelling way to tell the story of the A BETTER PARADISE universe and the characters within it.”

In addition to the audio series, Absurd Ventures revealed that they have multiple projects in "various stages of development" set in the A Better Paradise universe. This includes additional audio fiction seasons, television and video game titles. However, details of these projects have yet to be revealed.

“A BETTER PARADISE Volume One: An Aftermath” is set to premiere June 10 on all major podcast platforms, with new episodes to be released weekly throughout the summer.

A comic would have been cheaper than an audio drama series with famous actors.
Audio dramas have been around since basically the advent of radio, and they're still quite common, just not in the USA.
They're a pretty unique experience that you can't get anywhere else.

It confused me but he's making an open world action game and I guess the audio is to hype up the game. It might actually be a GTA clone type of game.

Isnt Dan the same dude who demanded board meetings in titty bars at rockstar, and coined the practice to automatically sue every employee they fire? Because if so, nothing he's involved in creatively should be allowed to succeed ever again. Nobody that vile, should be allowed to do anything but die a pauper's death.
