Hello, I put a selection of roms in roms folder in root of 32 GB microSD card and everything works great, everything except loading states of nitrografx, I tried saving and loading states for multiple games and every time I have to reset my DSi. I use everything stock, I didn't modify anything except adding GBA bios in _GBA in root folder, and adding box art.
This is a freshly installed microSD so I'm not trying to load old save files, this is my first time trying turbografx and neo geo pocket. There's around 22 roms in folder A and 33 in folder B.
Previously to this card I used another smaller 2gb card with hiyaCFW and twilight menu probably version 9.0 (I didn't use it for a long time), so I wanted to start fresh with newly updated Twilight menu without hiyaCFW. The only files I transferred from the old card are roms. Also I'm only using hucard roms for pc engine, no cd-roms.
Am I doing something wrong? this is directory structure of roms folder:
1 GBC
2 GBA
3 NDS
4 DSiware
5 NES
6 SNES
Sega GameGear
Sega Genesis
Sega Master System
SNK Neo Geo Pocket
Turbografx 16 - pc engine A
Turbografx 16 - pc engine B

Please ask this in the NitroGrafx thread, since I didn't make the emulator.

Sorry, I know maybe this has been answered before, but: do we still need the bios to run GBA games? Or can we just put the .gba file and run it? Of course, I'm talking via GBARunner2.

Most games will work fine without the BIOS, but certain games will still require it, such as the Metroid games.

I'm on a Ds Lite R4 SDHC ripoff flashcard; having a frustrating issue: when I load TWLmenu++, the two icons to the left of the last played (sometimes the right ones too) game show the default "question mark" icon. I can only force them to appear normally by scrolling them out of the screen and then coming back, or by using custom icons. Is there a way to either prevent this or make the menu always boot with the first game selected? (This way I would only have to force custom icons for the first 3 games on the list). Already tried messing with various settings and even changing sd card.

I've never encountered this issue on my side, and you're the first one to report it.
Sounds like the flashcard is sometimes failing to read certain files.
Try reformatting it's microSD card using this guide: https://dsi.cfw.guide/sd-card-setup.html

Followed the guide and then formatted with total overwrite, reinstalled ysmenu and TWL from scratch, with YS as primary kernel (not dual boot with flashcart kernel). It now only does it on page 2, gonna start using folders. I'll send updates if anything new happens. May I issue on Github if I can find more information about it?

I kinda doubt it's a TWiLight Menu++ issue itself for it be on GitHub, but a possible fix would be to simply attempt to read the icon again when it fails.

Ops I forgot the most important thing, that ONLY happens when a custom icon isn't set for a DS title (or custom icons aren't set altogether), I was trying to fix it by loading custom icons for everything but it's too much work. Maybe there are some problems with my dumps, going to check

searched on internet how can i solve it but i see other pattern on their posts, like a yellow square on the third one, or all red except the last being green etc

Edit: i forgot to say that twilight menu and nds bootstrap are updated
Edit 2: i found on github issues that someone had a problem with this card, but it has another pattern and the r4 icon is a japanese game in my case

I have this problem with my R4 3DS Gold sometimes... seems to be a problem when it is not making perfect connection. Cleaning the contacts and reseating the card properly solves the problem for me.

I think that flashcard is known to not work.

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
And I also have my ps3
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    ack my throat
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I need to invest in some storage totes tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tots?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Wtf
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox.
