Trying to help my friend with her DSi.

It's powers up to the health and screen warning and then the little boxes start flying but it crashes before they all fly through the screen.

Took the battery out and let it sit powerless - no change.

Is there a reset button to press?

Anything else I can try?

Thanks, you guys are awesome!

doesn't sound too good. i'm not sure but with my ds lite, just taking the battery out seems to reset all my name / clock etc, not sure if it's a complete reset or if it works on a dsi or not.

Also, how long has she had it?
Has the battery started to run out quicker than usual?
Does she use any flashcard?

did you try removing whatever game/flashcart you have inserted?
it's a problem i usually have when it can't read the game card properly.

Wow, thanks for the responses!

no flashcard nothing in it right now...
did leave the battery out trying to void all power in it, nothing new...
don't know how long she's had it, out of warranty I know...
battery lasts a long time still like normal I believe, no changes...

Thanks again, I really appreciate your input!

Have it plugged in with the Battery out, then put the Battery in, with it still in. If that does not work, it will need repairing by Nintendo.

if I hold down L R Start Select at the same time while powering on I get to the calibration screen which works. I calibrate then it asks to power down,
yes powers off then powers on same problem
no just calibrates again in a loop

i just did it another power on/ power off 50 times still nothing

For next time: when the warranty's about up, even if it's not broken, break something so it seems like normal use, i.e. the L & R buttons. Then send it in,
Ninty extends your warranty for EVERY part for 1 year. I've sent my launch-day DSi in 3 times, and my warranty's still good.
