Freeloader problem

So, I got Melee and Freeloader today, now, when i run SSBM through the Freeloader it gets weird colors(green turns into brown, red shades get stripes on them), and I'm pretty sure it's because the Freeloader.
I have Freeloader V 1.0E(The Wii compatible one, and I run it on a Gamecube) and it says in the booklet that there is a 3rd running mode to fix video problems, but when I try it (press Z after it loads) nothing happens.
Help anyone?

if your wii firmware is 3.0 or above, no freeloader will work on it

I am running it on my Gamecube,
not my Wii.
