Actually, you don't need to dump a game to know if it's a 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc.

On GBA games, there's an imprint on the cartridge of 2 numbers. Sometimes there's a letter following this. The letter (or lack of) will tell you the version.

So for instance, seeing 34A imprinted will tell me that the cart is a v1.1 (the numbers are completely irrelevant). If it was 41B, it would be v1.2. 99 would tell me that it's v1.0 (note that there's no letter).

Most Nintendo games have this type of imprint somewhere. SNES, N64 I believe are on the back, GBA on the front. NDS has printed (as opposed to imprinted) info on the back where N0 = v1.0 and N1 = v1.1, N2 = v1.2, etc.
