What is the best amp to get for the GBA I have seen several different ones and i'm not sure what to pick. Also most of these seem like they dont connect to the headphone jack so do they only amplify the speaker? Are there any benefits/drawbacks of them?

Cleanamp 1.1 https://retrosix.co.uk/Game-Boy-CleanAmp-v1-1-Audio-Amplifier-p141361141
Cleanamp pro https://retrosix.co.uk/Game-Boy-CleanAmp-Pro-v1-0-Audio-Amplifier-p331202019

Helders Flex Amp https://www.retromodding.com/products/helders-game-tech-gba-flex-amp
Not sure if the same but this is also a flex amp by helder https://www.zedlabz.com/products/fl...stall-flex-speaker-amplifier-helder-game-tech

Also seen these on ebay not sure what they are https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274664315822

Both of the cleanamps, in their descriptions say “For Game Boy Advance installs, the PureSilence is built in, giving complete silence when the volume wheel is turned all the way down, both in headphones and to the speaker.”

They appear to address the buzzing at the low volume with headphones and draw less power. Not sure if they’d be too loud, though.

I’d go with one of the cleanamp options.

I had installed the retrosix cleanamp version, and it was loud.. really loud.. but i eventually removed the amp because the ‘zero’ point (the start point of the wheel when you actually starting to hear audio,) is also way higher.. so you cannot play at a very low audio level anymore, which i actually use a lot..

I cant justify $1k+ on a nice ass phone. I can spend that on a 75" tv screen. Why a 6" screen device cost me the same? lol

Nah a phones going to always be more powerful than a TV if the TVs $2grand maybe but why when I can put a smaller device in my pocket that does basically everything a TV already does

I can justify a decent $800 smartphone that'll last 3 years when I could get a 65" TV for $400 and buy a decent micro computer for $100 more
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Tbf there are decent $400 smartphones in today's market that make top end spec phones unjust it's just what you want
