I also get the black screen in a NTSC 4.1 wii. I want to load from dvd because my hdd crashed but I really wanna play this game. I've come to understand that I need the latest IOS 56. Can someone please
1. PM me said IOS or a link or any information as of where to get it? all links posted in previous threads are now dead. Please, if you do this I'll be forever in your debt.
2. Tell me how to extract it from the ISO? I have learned you need wiiscrubber to do this but I have no idea how to do it.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

i just updated a friend's wii yesterday, who had been running hbc and usb loaders just fine, who i decided to grace with GH5. using gx 723 and rev14, this game would black screen using 249, 222, or 223, so i installed the latest hermes, v4, and chose to install 223, ios38 merged with 37, and the game loaded fine the first time, selecting 223 in the loader. no wad install necessary.

my two cents.

i did just installed hermes as u said by i dont have the 232 on the usb loader gx options(719) just 222-223-249 ....

P.S.

Ok withe 723 usb loader gx 002 fix and 223 loading option it boots, but it seems that hermes has reboot issues like old waninoko cios rev12,infact if i boot GH5 twice without switching the wii off the wii does a black screen,if i do load GH5 and another game the second game boots even without switching the wii off,now i didnt try GH5 another game and GH5 again but it may work that way too....

OK, for those having problems with GX and Guitar Hero 5.

1. Use the ISO from your region... not a patched out of region.

2. Use Hermes CIOS222 REV3 installer not the newer 4. Very important.

3. Install using 249, IOS 222 as 37/36 merged
4. Install using 249, IOS 223 as 38/36 merged (for usb instrument compatibility)

Now... this is the important bit (taken from IRC help)

QUOTE said:
NOTES:
-If your global cIOS is 249
and you set an individual game's cIOS to 222/223, it will not always work. This
is a bug in cIOS 249. On the other hand, if you set your global boot to 222 and
set an individual boot to 249, it will work fine every time.

-If you
change your global boot cIOS you need to completely exit out of the loader and
restart it in order for the change to take effect. If you do not do this you
will get a black screen. It is also necessary to delete your GXgamesettings.cfg
file from your config folder on your SD/USB to prevent any setting conflicts
since anything in GXgamesettings.cfg overrides the GXglobal.cfg
file.

-Setting your global boot to 222 (installed as 37 merge 36) and
setting your global 002fix to ANTI will result in 99% compatibility with no
glitching/stuttering on IN REGION games. For OUT OF REGION games you need to
also set the Video Mode to AUTOPATCH. The 1% non-compatibility is from the
"please insert disc" games. However, those games are fully playable by simply
inserting any dvd into your drive (I just stick a blank one in) OR by loading
those specific games with cIOS 249 rev 12 or higher.

-Make sure you
always delete the 00000001 folder from the root of your SD/USB before doing any
network installation of cIOS 222/223. If you install cIOS 222 as just 36, you
will still get the same glitches found in cIOS 249 rev 14. 37 merge 36 is
necessary.

So... In GX change your GLOBAL settings to use 222 (with merged 37/36) and fix 002 bug. This WILL load GH5, if it doesnt you havent followed the instructions properly or there is a conflict in your config files.

i got it to work with softchip but the disk loading is very slow, so slow that any time it buffers during a song (any song longer than 3 mins) the music loops until buffer is done, but the notes don't stop. so the music ends up lagged behind the notes 5-10 seconds or more. and on an extremely long song like peter frampton, it never finishes buffering. it just gives me a "disk can't be read" error.

is there a way to fix this?

Thank's man! I just registered just to say you that. Thank's for posting this. I've been trying to work this out for days - finally it seems to work!
PS: For The Beatles: Rock Band I must use cIOS 249 (just for the game, not globally).

Repost - I'm on firmware 4.0U. I've done the Hermes CIOS 37 merged with 36 on 222 successfully, and have installed the WAD. For MultiCIOS, it didn't give me an option for ios37 with ios37 as ios232 - rather ios36 with ios37 as ios232. I did that, however, encountered an error twice, then successfully did that. I then used SoftChip, set it to IOS 232 and enabled the 002 Fix. When I start the game, however, all I encounter is a black screen. I'm assuming this is because I did IOS36 with IOS37 as IOS 232, rather than 37 with 37 as 232.. does anyone know how to get that option to display, or at least how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

I was able to run beatles rockband pal & GH Metallica without any probs BUT GH5 would'nt load (black screen)

The hermes guide worked perfectly for me. It now loads GH5 Pal using configurable usb loader CFG using the option to run with Mload settings and block reloading of ios & 002 fix on.

Hermes guide: (I can confirm thisa worked for me without installing any additional wads.

This worked for me with 3.2u cios r14. Installed the older hermes cios as suggested and changed the global settings to 002 fix on and cios 222.
Beatles RB also works with this setup just choose ios 249 and 002 fix on.
I don't know why I have to turn the 002 fix on for the game if it is in the global settings, but I got the blue screen 002 error when it wasn't.

Ok ijust found this that worked a treat for me i used all the other triks and nothing worked but this worked a traet so good luck ppl hope this helps

OK so people have had a lot of problems getting Guitar Hero 5 Working on their Hacked Wii's And the way Most of you Know on how to load the game is By Softchip BUT i found a better way ;D

Step 1
First This is ONLY for people who Have SoftMii installed Or Preloader v0.29 With cIOSCorp v3.3 If you Don't Have Them Installed,
!!Get them!!.
SoftMii v3.0 (http://www.smdepot.net/zzk/Wii/Softmii3finally.rar)
Or
cIOSCORP v3.3 (http://www.smdepot.net/zzk/Wii/cIOSCORP_v3.3_dmm.zip)
Preloader v0.29 (http://www.smdepot.net/zzk/Wii/Preloader_v0.29.rar)

Step 2
If you Do not have Cios Rev 14 Installed
Download
Cios_Rev_14_+_IOS38-64-v3610.wad (http://www.smdepot.net/zzk/Wii/Cios_Rev_14_+_IOS38-64-v3610.wad.zip) Extract to your SD and Load HBC and Install this with 249 set

Step 3
Download cIOS56-64-v5146-rev14(custom_cios).rar (http://www.smdepot.net/zzk/Wii/cIOS56-64-v5146-rev14(custom_cios).rar)
extract and Place Both folders on the Root of the SD card then on the Wii Run HBC and Run the Installer
(It will Auto Install Then Wii Will Reboot)

Step 4
Play the damn Game ;D

(Side Notes)
This should work for USB loader and Disc channel.
If you have any questions just ask.

If for ANY reason people Need prof that GH5 runs off the Wii's Disc Channel
(with the above stuff installed) Here is a Little Video i made. GH5 Video (http://"www.smdepot.net/zzk/Wii/GH5_Video.rar")

Q&A's

Q: If i install the cIOS56-64-v5146-rev14 will i still be able to play my other games like Wii resort?

A: Yes, I have test close to all my games and Wii Resort and All still work.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Cios Rev 14 is not installing (What am i doing wrong?)

A: copy the .wad to root of the SD card then the Cios to the Apps folder then Load the program and install with option 249, And make sure your using a SD card and Not a SDHC
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: When I go into Systemmenu Hacks I have that : "hacks for your systemmenu version(v450) were found,No."

A: Ok here's some of the problems you May have.

1. I had to use an SD card that was not SDHC for my hacks.ini file to be read. Give that a shot.

2. Preloader/hacks - WiiBrew (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader/hacks) Here are hacks.ini's for other version Wii's This may help as well (Just open the hacks.ini with notepad and copy/paste the text and save file.

Make sure when you place the hacks.ini in the root of the SD card that you reinstall the preloader so it installs the hacks.ini to your Nand
(or your just keep getting the same error as you never change anything)

When 002 fix is on in global settings, it applies to all games that havent previously had individual custom settings applied to them, hence having to delete the config files. If you look at a game that hasnt had its load modified, it will show 002 blocking as on.

Here you go I made a USB forwarder channel for this game. I tested it and it works as it should. It may even help some of you who can't get this game to work. Also if you can't get this game to work yet you should probably search this thread well. There are many guides here that will get this working, including mine.

You will be able to load the game with this channel after you have installed IOS38 Rev14 and Hermes cIOS 223 and IOS37 merged with IOS36.

Wii FW 4.0U

It's loaded with the following...
Boot from: USB
Language: System Default
Video mode: Don't patch
cIOS: 223
Anti-002 Fix: Yes

BTW I made this channel with Loadstructor. If for some reason you need to change an option I made on this channel hold B after you start the channel and go from there.

All defaults + fix 002 + cIOS223 and it works but sometimes it doesn't load. I think this is because cIOS 223 is not my main cIOS... (Loading time is quite long)

If sometimes it doesnt load, its because you have a conflict between global settings and individual settings. Make sure both are set to 222 (not 223, as you cant set that in global settings). (and of course make sure 222 is hermes 37/36.)

using the guide i posted thers no need to mess about with anything infact once you have done what it says you can run the game from the disk channel with no need to set anything up this is even on a softmoded wii like mine

waninkokos 4.1E system menu
homebrew channel installed via Twilight hack back in the day

I use to run all my games via gekko but after following guide i posted above i have no need for that at all now if a game askes you to update just use wiiscrubber to remove the version update from the iso file then re-burn the game and run it with no problem (e.g. Cursed mountin) the only thing thats a pain well not evan a pain is you have to push A just once more than normal when booting up your wii but i dont mind that if i can run games with ease from disk channel.
