Hello.

Now that RetroArch can't be used anymore unless you've access to developer mode, it's no problem for me to move to the Wii U.

However, I have many hours and dealt with difficult VR Missions in Metal Gear and also saves from some RPGs and ofcourse those games take a long time to start over.

I still have RetroArch on my Xbox One system, but I'm afraid opening it causes a ban, so I rather not to.

Is it possible to copy my saves to USB?
If so, how and what to do?

Thanks.

Yes, you can.
The save and status files of retroarch are always the same, you can move them from xbox to pc, or from pc to xbox.
In developer mode, you are allowed to browse the xbox via a browser and using the network drive connection, a feature of operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
When you are in developer mode you will have noticed an address at the bottom, that is the address to enter in your browser to enter the dedicated page where you can insert a file or send a file to the PC.
Example:
https://192.168.1.3:11443
attention, check the address: yes=https no=http

If you just need to switch saves, the browser is fine, for many files it is better to use the operating system option connect network drives. If you don't know how to do it well, look for tutorials on YouTube.

Oh, so it's only possible in developer mode?
before it was possible to use services such as samba (+ FTP programs) and share even in retail mode, Microsoft has removed this possibility always in retail mode and in developer mode it is not possible to see some system folders with FTP.
Microsoft has changed its policy, that is, it has made it safe because more and more users without any confidentiality shared online everything they did in retail or in developer mode, in order not to have problems with companies such as Nintendo or with Hackers, it has removed any external program and made some system folders inaccessible.

If you can still use RetroArch on your Xbox in Developer Mode, it might let you move your game saves to a USB stick right from its menu. Check the RetroArch menus for anything about managing files, saving games, or where it keeps files. Some RetroArch versions let you find where the saves are kept and give you a way to copy or move these saves to your USB.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
