Also, do UMK3 or MK3 work now? They always crashed the emulator.
@MKKhanzo
I remember MK3 and UMK3 didn't work on these split cores of MAME 2003 Plus by Wiimpathy, but i can say you i have compiled the dedicated Midway core of MAME 2003 (https://github.com/libretro/mame2003_midway) for the Wii using RA Wii 1.7.6 and... guess what? MK3 and UMK3 are fully working here!!!

Right now i'm doing some more testings, but i will release this MAME 2003 Midway core soon in my dedicated thread.

What kind of speed are you getting? Also is it possible to add support for UMK3+ romhack?

They need to be added to the source code as valid romsets I believe, while we're at it if anyone can do the same for SF2 Mix on CPS1, that would be incredible.

I also see there's a killer instinct core here? Does it run even halfway decently at all on the Wii?

Hey there, I wanted to try undertaking this task with my very limited experience. what's a good place to get started? i'm guessing i would need to pull request for mame 2003+ add these roms (UMK3+, NBA JAM Rewind and SF2 Mix), then compile as the split cores?

Every Mortal Kombat game i have tried in MAME 2003 Midway (MK1/MK2/MK3/UMK3) worked and runs fine at full speed or at least i think so (but you have to enable DCS Speedhack).

I saw the 2019 version of the hack UMK3+ (umk3p) was added to playable titles long time ago.

However, it has some audio issues regarding to DCS. I'll try adding those fixes that were made time ago later.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Modded ofc
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Speaking of my PS3 i havent downloaded any games yet bc my wifi is too slow
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and also because blackouts here are very common and that could damage the console
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh i recall seeing one in some in the houses of some relatives, including my dad's apartment
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, although whatever device we plug into them stops getting power anyways lol
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
    that's weird
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, and oh i was talking about ups
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Surge protectors are what i was talking about

On the series s/x you can use a external HD but any next gen games must be on your internal ssd, or you can buy a ssd expansion card, but pricey. Any xbone, 360, or og Xbox games can be played from external tho.
