Hacking Mario Kart USA on Wasabi

kk. just got Mario Kart USA NTSC, backup obviously.
Have Wasabi chip installed. North American Wii.
When I insert the disc, It tells me that It will now perform a system update.
Do I allow it? Will it brick my Wii, etc? Can I go online with Mario Kart?

Sorry, I'm relatively new to the Wii chip scene.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, I'm itching to play this game. lol.

you wont brick your wii, and im pretty sure the only way to semi-brick your wii is to take an update from a different region. So you should be fine updating, and im pretty sure its the only way the game will play.

if you have a USA wii only do updates from games that are USA.

the USA updates are meant for your USA wii. it needs the update so the game will play. it doesn't make sense for nintendo to have updates in games for wiis that brick the system. because it is the same updates as in the original game w/ unmodded system. i hope that makes sense to you.

the only time there is problem is when someone uses a pal (euro) game in a usa or vice versa. the firmware is just not exactly compatible. in this case you can use programs (wiibrick blocker) to remove the region update in order to play the game.
