I'm sure everyone has had this type of game.
It sort of just finds you. Something maybe you think not many people know of and you think it deserves more attention than its getting/got.
lets go around the hotel. It can be any game from any platform. Something maybe easy to find on the net that people could play after reading the topic.

My vote would be the NES game
Ufouria
Very much like a metroid game but without the guns and more random skills to learn.
Think Mario graphics meets Metroid gameplay.
Personally this is still one, if not THE best game i have ever played.

NOTE:Please Keep it to one game, its a giant pain in the arse when people suggest like 8 games for different systems :'(

Thanks for the info - I'm a sucker for games like that. Felix The Cat, Dizzy, Asterix, Adventure Island entertain me regularly. Never heard of this one before, but will definitely give it a go.

To answer your question, I believe everyone should have played Deus Ex. Definitely underrated.
When it comes to old NES games, Felix The Cat is an example of a very good but underrated game. One of the most entertaining platformers I played on the system, though pretty easy.

Dice wars.
It's so fun that it gets kinda freaky. Rules are very easy so it's just hop in and play, don't bother reading the rules, why reading 1 minute if you can find out the rules by yourself in 30 seconds.
Go give it a try.

Lost Vikings 1-2. They're both on SNES but Lost Vikings 2 on PC have voice acting, FMV videos and better graphics. It's a platform-puzzler in which you control 3 Vikings that has different skills and you have to proceed through the levels

And I think Monkey Island IS a well-known game =/

Freespace 2. Whether you like space simulators or not, this game is unbelievably well structured and absorbing.

Another one would be Forbidden Siren 2. The first one had really serious issues, but most of them were addressed in the sequel. Unfortunately for US gamers, for some reason this wasn't released in the States, but is well worth getting your hands on it, either through importing, or emmm alternative channels.

Oh, and of course Okami. Although im sure alot of people who are here must have played this one, its ridiculously low sales suggest otherwise
