Paint.NET's only good if you know how to use it. And you sir, know how to use it. (that is of course, assuming you didn't make the Paint.NET remark only to turn around and bust out Photoshop.)

If your only a beginner maybe you should try joining a team already in progress?
It takes a lot of time, effort, and skill to manage a team for a full fledged project
