Ready for an update? Nintendo has just pushed out a new firmware for the Switch, bringing the system's software version up to 12.0.1. Per usual, "officially", this is just a stability update, so keep an eye out and wait to see what's really under the hood before you update your Switch, if you care about homebrew.

Ver. 12.0.1 (Released April 19, 2021)
General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

All these updates so close together.

Cant nintendo make a good system, as we never see any improvement, botw still lags.

But wait, they cant be arsed to make new games either.

Maybe they're implementing a means to track sx os activation as its odd their website is still active.....

I updated to 12.0.0... and almost all my homebrew got seriously borked up. I can't Use Tesla, forwarders or Checkpoint anymore. If Nintendo didn't screw me with the first update, they'll definitely do it with this one
This might now come as a surprise to you, but it generally makes sense to check your homebrew applications for updates/whether they already support the latest firmware version before updating to said firmware version and then complaining homebrew apps don't work anymore

Tesla is working fine for me on 12.0.0 w/ atmo 0.19.1. I just had to update all components of it (Tesla-Menu and nx-ovlloader).

Any news on bluetooth audio for sysver 12+?

I didn't see any support for it updating my OFW console to 12.0.0, and don't expect to see it when I update to this version. Or ever. I don't expect to see it ever, because Nintendo's pretty much given up on rounding out the Switch experience it seems.

As of my thoughts on all this, check @Scott_pilgrim's full signature.

If people would actually check rather than doing the same old overused joke. They seem to have fixed stuff with the bluetooth function of the Switch. So yeah, it might actually be proper to use of the normal Nintendo lingo.

Also they updated NgWord2... for some reason.

You mean expecting Tempers to actually do a bit of research instead of making the same tired fucking jokes? Surely you jest.

I think you only get like 425gb on a series s hard drive, so you get 1, 2 next gen games max
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, so you need to have another series s if you wanna play more games?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Nuh you buy extra HD n add to it, but not cheap
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, how can a console have more than 1 hard drives?
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
usb expansion? I know the PS4 can do this
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh Yea I recall my PS3 can do that

    Modded ofc
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Speaking of my PS3 i havent downloaded any games yet bc my wifi is too slow
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and also because blackouts here are very common and that could damage the console
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh i recall seeing one in some in the houses of some relatives, including my dad's apartment
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, although whatever device we plug into them stops getting power anyways lol
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
    that's weird

@MysticStarlight, and oh i was talking about ups
