Nintendo Switch update picked up by ylws8bot

Time to update! Or not. For now, we’re cautiously waiting it out to see what this new firmware brings to the stability table. The ylws8 site doesn’t show much, and Nintendo’s official website hasn’t yet updated itself to share what features or stability the new firmware offers. Additionally, reports seem to indicate that the update itself isn’t even live for users to download—just that it’s been picked up by the update checking bot.

Update-details generation datetime: 2021-03-09 00:05:12+00:00

SDK versions:

11.4.0 (.0)

The titles' .*info files are now available (title descriptions were also updated if needed/successful), see the report title-listing.

Started sysmodule SwIPC-generation task. Output will be available with the above .info files via the report title-listing page, this will take a while to finish for all sysmodules.

"yellows8bot", yellows8 it's an username. i remember when i started modding my 3ds i used browserhax, you had to write an url everytime you wanted to run the exploit. and in the url it said ylws8. i wrote the url so many times that i never forgot xd i think he was an active member on the 3ds scene
He was one of the pioneers of the 3DS scene; smealum did the big public things but him and yellows8 did a lot in the background
There were many others, too

Oh, is the Switch now getting phantom updates? Man, imagine if they started doing automatic updates if you leave your Switch on sleep mode.

They may add the option to download the update while you are online, but not playing a game as that would get too many slowdown complains and then the Switch would automatically update the next time is turned on and the battery level is over 50%.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I think you only get like 425gb on a series s hard drive, so you get 1, 2 next gen games max
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, so you need to have another series s if you wanna play more games?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Nuh you buy extra HD n add to it, but not cheap
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and also because blackouts here are very common and that could damage the console
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh i recall seeing one in some in the houses of some relatives, including my dad's apartment
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, although whatever device we plug into them stops getting power anyways lol
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
    that's weird
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, and oh i was talking about ups
