Hacking Okay to update?

Just found out there is a new update for the Wii Shop Channel.
I have 4.2E at the moment.
Should I update?

Will it delete the homebrew channel if I update?

No.

If the System Menu isn't touched (in this case it's not), you can pretty much guarantee that the Homebrew Channel will not be affected.

its safe, update. if you used a fail updater (called a "safe" updater by devs), then it'll update boot2 removing bootmii if you have it. Just reinstall it afterwards. It will not remove anything else. 'cept maybe cIOS if you have it.

That's really unhelpful seeing as he asked TWO questions; should he update, and would the update remove HBC.

or, you could just download the update for the shop channel with NUSDownloader and install it through wad manager.

Just use Wii SCU from wiibrew. Or get v18 wad shopping channel from NUSdownloader
